Who We Are

Ave Maria Film Society

Welcome to AMU on Film, the online home of the Ave Maria University Film Society, presented by the Literature Department at Ave Maria University, Ave Maria, Florida.  We are an organization of students dedicated to furthering film literacy on campus. Under the guidance of Dr. Mark McCullough, Assistant Professor of Literature, the Film Society screens 7-8 films classic  and contemporary films per year and moderates discussions led by faculty and outside experts on film and filmmaking. We  hope  to bring classic and modern cinema to the foreground as a literary, visual, and musical art, with the intent of actively engaging and criticising cinema in an academic context. This blog is the intellectual outlet for the members of the Film Society, as well as a forum for open discussion and academic inquiry into the art of film by both the readers and the writers.
